Anyone ever been to the Tesoro factory

Just curious if any of you have been to the Tesoro factory & meet any of the people there. I know this will sound corny but that is one of my dreams. Being a dairy farmers and not having alot of $$$ I don't get to travel, I would rather see the Tesoro factory and meet the people that work there more than meeting the President (past or present) or meeting any movie star. I have talked with James/Vince/Rusty/Casey/ and the lady that usually answers the phone a few times and they seem to be really nice folks. Maybe someday the Wife will hit it big on one of them scratchy tickets & if she does look out Arizona I will be on my way. Steve.

Hi Steve-----Yep, been there several times.----The Giffords are just as nice of people as you could meet.---They not only treat their customers right but they are good to their employees also, & to me that's all important (says a lot for a company).----This is not just 2nd hand info to me or what the Giffords told me either--I have visited with an "production line" employee in a casual conversation in a Prescott park (when the wife & I were on a hunt there).---I think ALL the Tesoro employees take pride in their work as they put these great little detectors together for us.---The whole Tesoro company just can't be beat.------As to plant size--it is relatively small (which is not a bad thing) compared to say Whites (which I have been to also, toured & is like a "college campus" with buildings etc.)----Tesoro doesn't give tours of their facility but there was a neat article in one of the treasure magazines a couple of years or so ago of a tour granted a gentleman (with pictures) of the inside of the plant & with very interesting details/info.-----Sometimes when I'm over there I drop off a detector to James or Vince to be checked & calibrated if necessary, I go hunt a Prescott park for awhile & then go back later & they've got it ready for me to pick up.---For some reason, when I do that I almost ALWAYS find a ring.---I showed a gold & silver ring I found that way to James once--he thought it was pretty neat! :) ----------Del

Thanks Del, enjoyed reading your post.I was figuring that the people @ Tesoro was as good as their equipment & thats top notch.

I believe I would relocate and make it a weekly visit stop. Drop off some doughnuts - find a ring. Bring some tacos for lunch - find a ring. Swing by with a few tomatoes from the garden - find a ring. Well, you get the idea.

 HEY, you're givein me ideas dahut!!! ----The wife & I are retired and get to spend some of the winter in CA & AZ.----That's why I get to drop in & "pester" them at Tesoro once in awhile.-----Donuts huh??? Hmmmm, wonder what kind they like?? :lmfao:  ---------Del

I used to live in AZ, in Phoenix. I did a lot of stomping around the Payson - Prescott area, shooting, camping and roughin' it. Its a beautiful part of the country. It wouldnt take much to get me back there.

Met James G several years ago at a gold show in Spokane, WA. Great person and really helpful with answers about detecting in general and of course, Tesoros in particular.
