ANYONE DETECT NEAR SALTWATER?

New member
was wondering even if you don't go in the water and stay on the dry sand is there a chance of the detector becoming damaged internally over time? I was thinking between the breeze and just being close to the water how everything seems to corrode over time i would think small electronics would be more at risk. has anyone experienced damage from this or opened up the machine and noticed any corrosion?

Never had a problem but I always cover the housing with plastic and rinse the shaft and coil with fresh water at the end of the day.
