Anyone detect around the Corning, New York area ?

I'm going to Corning in the middle of October for a museum event unrelated to detecting. I plan to spend an extra three - four days there to see if I can locate Colonial period cellar holes to detect. We have nothing like that in California, so it would be a great new experience.

I was curious if any of our Findmall members MD in the area? Corning is only approximately 10 miles N. of the Pennsylvania state line.

Im an Hour ,maybe an Hour and 30 min away from corning myself..Ive never Hunted that way..There are alot of old dirt rds out that way you will deff find old cellar holes on..You will need to get permission which may be a pain since you dont Know anyone in the area. Some cool little towns and old parks and schools that way tho..so you should find some sites to Hit.Let us know how you make out..HH

Thanks. I was thinking about mainly hunting parks and such in Corning, Bath, Painted Post, etc. I ordered a book on the history of Steuben County, so that should help zero in on the older sites.

I'll post a trip report when I get back, I'm really hoping to find my first large cent
