Anyone around Punta Gorda,Tampa area of FLA?

I have a place to stay for a few weeks in Punta Gorda and wonder if there is anyone in that area that i could meet up with to do some detecting? i don't know any of the laws in that area so i don't want to get in trouble doing something that i shouldn't be doing without knowing what's going on. Plus it's more fun for me detecting with someone than being alone.
