Anybody using the Detech 13" Ultimate Coil on the Etrac

I had and used one on my Etrac for two months.
I did not dig any coins deeper that usual over the stock coil.
It handled the EMI better than the stock coil.
Auto sensitivity usually up to about 26, where the stock coil ran about 21.
For me it felt heavier over the stock coil.
It did seem to stabilize the CO and FE numbers.
Great for open ares with little trash.
Not good as expected in the super trashy areas.

I would use it over the Pro coil any day.........deep and man can you here the targets!!!!...to me it does not feel any heavier than the Pro coil.

Mine pretty much lives on my Etrac. I'm not convinced it's really deeper but that it does give a more stable ID and better audio, especially on deep targets, then the stock coil. I seem to be getting tricked less except by those blasted Olde English screw caps. They are just a real pain to figure out!

My machine also runs higher sensitivity on the same ground in Auto +3 and I seem to be able to run the manual sensitivity higher then on the stock coil.

It does pretty good at separation for a large coil but if I'm in heavy trash I always switch down to my X-5.

It doesn't ever come off of my e trac!,close to the same weight, seems to be better than stock in every respect in my oppinion

I will hopefully be using it soon. Scheduled to be delivered tomorrow!! I am no expert with the etrac, but will give you my opinions after I swing it a few times. HH

I've been using mine off and on for quite some time now. I used to hunt almost religiously with my 10x12 sef, and found a lot with it that none of my other coils would pick up, but now I'm rehunting some of those same areas and finding things that I missed before. In some instances it has popped out great finds in trashy areas (how about a barber dime only 4 inches down but off the tip of a shovel head buried in the ground right next to it?!!) but for the most part I don't use it in trashy spots on purpose. (when I say trashy I mean areas where there are a lot of non-ferrous trash targets, it does seem to do well in areas where there is a lot of iron and little non-ferrous) Where I've found it to excel is in areas that are pretty much hunted out and have little shallow/new trash. I switch over to two tone ferrous and open the screen wide open, no discrimination at all. That sounds crazy but even with a high manual sensitivity of about 27 in most areas, I dig all deep repeatable non-ferrous signals and have found lots of deep, deep bullets and other finds that have been missed by myself and others in the past. Of course I'm still digging quite a few false signals and bits of rusty nail/etc., but that happens less and less the more time I have with that combination. Just a few days ago I dug a 1/2 dime which was toasted in a fire (I guess) and then broken in half, it was about 9 to 10 inches deep and in a field covered in corn stubble. A nice clear repeated non ferrous signal amidst the low blips of iron trash which seem to saturate the area. So I have lots of praise for the Ultimate even though I was hesitant at first, almost decided to sell it after a few weeks. HH and good luck, don't give up on it before you've had some time using it. It's a little heavier than the procoil but you'll get used to it.

Just purchased the coil for a week ago.
Works great in open land with not to much trash .
It feels a little bit heavier then the Pro coil, but got a feeling it not falses as much when running hot.

I throw up the sens to manuell 30 ,almost open, just one line in the bottom and on smooth signal. Works great .

Im working it here in UK now and it feel a little to big for the fields I've been using it on.
The small hammered coins will not be picked up in the sometimes extreme trashy fields.

I therefor use the baby-SEF for winkling out them small targets amongst the trash.
