ANYBODY USING C SCOPE METAL DECTORS?

Woodchuck

New member
I'm interested in hearing about the Newforce R1,CSMX,1220XD,CS990XD,CS1220R, if you got any one of these drop me a line. I'm thinking of getting one Thanks Woodchuck

I had a C.scope 3mx, it has good iron disc and fast recovery speed..good relic machine for the money.

My friend had a Newforce R1, seemed to be have quite slow recovery speed in iron, but good depth.

C.scope are good machines, but lack of DD coils hurt the most.

You should really try some of those Bulgarian machine, like Golden mask, vista rg etc. They are really a killer relic machines for the money, i really like my Golden mask 3.

I'm in Britain and for the first time in years have no C-Scopes. Build quality is still good, repairs and backup excellent and the prices low for what you get.
Why haven't I got one at the moment ? Well Finder is right there's a distinct lack of coils, both of type and size.

I still have my old XLT which though more expensive at the time than the flagship R1, offered more performance if the extra controls and settings are used. The fact I have an Eliminator, Bigfoot and other third party coils for the XLT adds to its performance and versatility.

The 1220's and 990XD are more modern versions of the old and very successful Arado 120/120b and 130 designs with a primary all metal search mode with meter or meter/tone discrimination. The digital 1220R was the long awaited upgrade to the many 1220 analog models. Looked smart, lighter in use but when it came down to it didn't seem to work as well. Then consider that none of them compete with the nearest U.S. equivalent the Nautilus DMC.
The CSMX is similar to a basic Tesoro but lacks the lifetime warranty. Cheap but everything you have had would outperform it though they should do as they are all more expensive.

That leaves a couple of detectors that are worth importing as they offer excellent bangs for your bucks and they are the 3MX VLF and the 4Pi pulse. Otherwise the old Eastern block offers some excellent detectors with good build quality and performance. There's going to be a new kid on the block any time now that's worth hanging on for.

You mean a new top of the line C.scope model?

Can you tell me what features it has or is it still a secret.;)

No, its one of the better Polish detector brands but modified with more features and to better suit British needs and superior to the Goldem Mask and Vista RG's. There's supposed to be a new C-Scope being worked on but no one seems to know where the story started and we are more than a year on now.
I'll see if I'm allowed to say more. Don't really see why things have to be kept so secret after all the modifications have been made.

Only Polish brand i know is Armand Metal Detectors and must be some detector , if it is superior to Golden mask or Vista rg detectors, because i think atleast Golden mask are very hard to top for Price vs. quality.:)

Some of the better machines don't make it on to the world stage as they are either good so the manufacture has trouble filling orders in his own country, or their menu's are not in English + the difficulties of setting up repairs/servicing. I had one of the first T2's from when they were only sold through a chain of sports shops in the U.S. By the time they finally reached the U.K. I already had a third party 11" concentric for mine. On some forums it was said that they would or could not work with a concentric yet when the small coil arrived it was a concentric. The bloke who made my coil decided that its wasn't worth the effort of going into mass manufacture so only half a dozen were made.

Whites compatible Double D coils were manufactured for years and sold in Holland and Germany before Whites themselves got round to the idea. Few made it outside those countries. The Golden Mask detectors and XP for that matter were being sold for years before they first got sold in the U.K. People don't get out much and the dealers tend to stick with established brands until the amount of imports forces them to take notice and magazine reviews are rarely independant as the authors just wait to be supplied with the latest arrival from the nearest detector supplier.

well all i can tell you is i think the bulgarians have got it right no frills type detecting just straight forward tones and power to match and what i'd like to see is a all out depth challenge between the golden mask 3plus and the soverien gt and the all new deus xp in mild conditions and poor soil as well and even why not throw the deep tech rg 1000 vista in the mix to

This was done a year ago (with the exception of the fairly new Vista). There were also several other brands including Whites V3, a Fisher CZ, Blisstool, Atlantis Imperator, F75, T2. Best depth with correct ferrous/none ferrous I.D. was the twenty odd year old design of the Nautilus DMC IIb.

Drawback with the DMC is no full range discrimination if you want depth ie you can't rely on the relationship of the discrimination audio to the all metal audio as a guide to metal type as you can if the detector is used not maxed out. Not a good wet sand machine and doesn't cope with high mineralisation as well as some. The drawbacks are balanced back by the ability to alter the searchcoils architecture to minimise the effect of temperature change and the fact you can increase/decrease the strength of the primary electromagnetic field by regulating the voltage output to the transmitter. So instead of the 6 or 8 volts most detectors use you can adjust to deliver up to a maximum of 44 volts peak to peak across the transmitter.
There's a similar design beach machine that delivers 52 volts in its high power mode that appears to have been inspired by the old Mac 1 Turbo.

well thats interesting i've always been currious about the nautilaus but it looks like it got a million and one knobs on it so it looked complicated so i always kind of steered away from it

Its not switch on and go that's for certain but its not that bad either. I rarely use non motion discrimination or auto tune off so those switches don't get touched. Sensitivity, well two, one for each mode rather than one. The others are just the standard controls of any ground balance detectors with the exception of the two coil balance knobs which really worry people until they have been taken through the set up once.
