I have all three 9-inch concentrics and frankly, I can't see any difference in detection depth or separation characteristics. It might be a bit more sensitive to smaller targets. But when I have to lower the sensitivity setting to keep it from chattering, what is the point in being more sensitive? I do, however, see a difference in the manner each coil responds to certain targets. For example, the 3 kHz coil gives me a distinct audio "bark" on deeply buried iron. Iron that typically sends a "dig it" type signal. On the other hand, the 18.75 concentric seems to be particularly "hot" on lower conductive targets such as can slaw and aluminum screw caps. Not that you won't find your share with any frequency coil. But the higher frequency provides a tone on those targets that is hard (at least for my ears) to tell the difference. In my opinion, for "general hunting" you have the three best options. If you have that "gotta have another one" thing going on, and you hunt old farmsites or homesteads, consider that 9-inch at 3 kHz. It and the 6-inch DD are my two favorite coils. JMHO HH Randy
