Anybody use a DD coil on the Cibola or Vaquero?

Macaco

Hi All,

I'm thinking of getting a DD coil for my Cibola. Maybe the 8.5" round or maybe the 10" elliptical.

If you've used one of the DD coils on either the Cibola or Vaquero what did you think of it?

I only used DD coils for years and would like to try using one on my Cibola. The concentric coil is great but I just like DD coils better because that's what I know best.

Thanks.

Hi Steve in Calif.
Mabybe I can help a little. I too am a D-D fan. Started with a Lobo then Lobo S-T. AT least 10 years. Now I have Tejon. Very close to the V. or C. First I don't do schools or parks. Mostly construction sites with a lot of trash. Stock coil 8X9 good but noisy. The 5X10 much narrow path with a lot less noise. If it gets real bad then I go the 5.75 concertric coil. The 5X10 has a little less depth but that is no problem. I use the 5X10, 50% of the time and 5.75, 40%, and stock, 10%. Hope this will help.

10x12 widescan on a modified Cibola, disc on iron, max sens and max threshold:

20 inches on a 1 euro coin

18 inches on a gold ring

Hi Willard,

That's exactly what I wanted to know. I do similar hunting and at some sites the Cibola does start to chatter in some areas with the stock coil even with the sensitivity turned down.

Thanks again,

You're getting some crazy air tests with the modified machine.

I've seen other people talking about doing that to the Cibola. Is it difficult to do the Mod?

Is there a kit one can buy to do it?

Thanks,

I have the 12 x 10 widescan (DD) coil but very little use with it on my Cibola ... it makes it more nose heavy and that hurts my elbow so I stick to the 9 x 8 until I better balance the whole thing.
PM sent on the ground balance mod.
