Anybody that has Detech Excelerator E coil pls help !!!

If you have Excelerator E coil, could you please measure the resistance
(with the simple multimeter) between pins 1&2 and 3&4 and let me know the values.

I have 7.5 Ohms between 3&4 and only 0.8 Ohms between 1&2. Is this OK?

What's an E coil? I've got a 5" and 8" excelerator and they both work great. Those readings don't match what they tested with my digital ohmmeter. They read the same as my stock 9.5". Rob

According to JW you have an Explorer coil. Is your detector an Explorer?Since this an MXT forum I'm guessing you also have an MXT. An Explorer coil would not work on a Whites. I have an MXT and my coils are for an MXT. As I said I measured my coils 3-4 reads OL (overload) and 1-2 reads 1.03 ohms. That is the same reading as a stock 9.5 Whites coil. Rob

now I know that the coil is for an Explorer MD, so I've posted this question on the wrong forum. I am building my own MD, and I got this coil to use it with it. It seems a very good coil and I can adapt my RX/TX circuit to drive it. My question about resistance is related to a very odd reading of the resistance on one of the coils. 0.7 Ohms seems very low especially for VLF MDs.

Is your reading of 02 actually 0.2 Ohms or 2 Ohms?

I will also try to ask the same question on the Minelab Explorer forum to see if someone could give me a reading from the exactly the same coil.

Sorry it was 1.028 to be exact. MY whites was 1.03 Rob
