I just got an ID Edge and took it on a hunt Sunday. Ground balancing was easy as one could ask for!! I set the Sens. to 4 in the Old Coin mode and swung away. I dug quite a few rusty bottlecaps that read as quarters, is this normal? I was getting false signals at the end of my swings, even tho my coil was flat, no tipping at the end. I found I needed to slow my sweep speed down, no weed whacker speed with it. Should I lower the Sens. more? I did end up with a respectable amount of coins, so I'm sure this rig will hunt, I just need a little help to get the most out of it.

I just found it too but I don't see much about the ID egde. It all seems to be about the F75.
Guess the Edge is really OLD stuff but I suppose people are still useing them.

A lot of posts on the Edge, they start about 93 and go down in Numbers...there are like 135 pages in all...

i have and use the ID Edge, but I can run mine at 9 on sens and no problems.
I start my disc at zero and dig above foil.
I run CP, Customer Preference.
Vol at max.
and use the small coil.
I have dug some round rusty washers, but I have done that with other units.

It might help if we knew where you lived and what you hunt and where..

In the picture, is a site that we hunted.
The old dude is using a A.H. Pro back packer.

I mostly hunt parks, schools, vacant lots, soccer fields, sports fields...or wherever else I can get. Most places are pretty well littered with trash, so a small coil would be a benefit. I checked on some of the dealer sites, but no one carried any Edge small coils. I heard SunRay made a 6" coil for it, no luck finding one of those either. I live in Central Texas, suburbs of Austin. Pretty mild soil around here for the most part, as long as I stay east of IH 35. Like I said, I've only had the Edge out once and will probably try it again this weekend. Looks like you boys got some pretty good "Dig-All" sites to hunt up there in OK.

Keep looking for a small coil, that's all I use...I never found a coil cover for mine, so I just put tape on the bottom of the coil.

I was just starting to learn the Edge when I got tied up with work, 7 days a week for 6 months.
Last Saturday was only the 2 nd time that I have been hunting this yr.

That site was in OKC and has been pounded. The paper will give a list of places to be torn down and one of my friends works in the city and keeps a eye on them..Three was a 1922 silver dollar found at this site by that old A.H.Pro back packer. A 1898 I.H. several Wheaties, one Buff. several old marbles, old dog tags, tax tokens, and a lot of trash. I hope you can find places like this to hunt Austin.

BigCatDaddy I just got my ID Edge on Sat. It is different, I never had a Fisher detector before. I had a 4 hour hunt on Sat and found 11 coins. I sure dug a lot of nails, iron, bobby pins. It was kinda of disappointing. I have been out three more times and starting to get the hang of it. It sure does work nice on the beach. I have to set sensitivity down to 6 some times because of falsing but it detects just fine in wet (fresh water) sand. I can run it about 8 or 9 in dry sand. Usually run about 7 it is fine with me. I am digging holes that take 3 or 4 sand scoops. That is deep for me. Elton told me about swinging at 90 degrees to see if you get same signal. That helped. I check ever signal in that method. I still dig a number of them +36 signals back and forth but nothing 90 degrees. It has come up junk every time. I use the old coin setting, sens at 7+ and disc at foil. I am just learning so can't give much else. Hope a few ID Edge guys will post, it seems like every post is a F75. HH....Z

They like a little iron........It's the nature of most Fishers.

It was the last detector thay fisher made i think before the buy out by first texas,
I use mine both in the water stuck in a waterproof box wadeing around the lakes(pics posted in the mod fourm )
And swinging at the parks , schools, churchs and old homes in the area too if you would like to see some of the finds i.ve made look up deerman in the search mode of the fourm , it will Impress you at the small gold and things it will find along with the coins and relics good luck bigcatdaddy and let us know how your doing too

Hi there Edgers;)
--I really have some serious trouble with dull and muffled sounds in my headphones--
have tried different phones from Koss and Sennheisser---same dull tones
iron and foil just sound the same--
