Anybody Notice the Volume Of The ProPointer Gets Weak When The Battery Is Near Dead?

I just noticed yesterday the volume on my ProPointer was getting rather weak, and think I remember this happening before right before the low battery alarm kicked in. I was just thinking it's been a while since I've replaced the battery and then noticed the volume getting lower on targets. This thing does have really good battery life, though. I get close to a year out of a battery in it.

I have had the volume get low on it before due to dirt being stuck in the speaker hole, but don't see any dirt in there so I suspect the battery is about to die.

I notice it starts a run-away beeping after detecting a target and eventually when I power it on.
I get an extremely long lifespan out of alkaline batteries also, but now I use LiPo's and love them.

I run a lipo in my GT but the battery life of the ProPointer is so good that I don't mine buying a store 9V to run it. They make a 9V lipo cell now? Got a link to it? I might get one of those. Don't want to run a 9V nimh in the ProPointer because they discharge over time and the battery life is so long on this thing (close to a year for me) that I'd end up having to charge the nimh more often just due to it's self discharge. Lipos of course don't have that problem so I'd be interested in using a 9V lipo if they make them.

Actually a friend of mine works for a battery company and gives me all the free batteries I want. The company gives them to them to hand out for promoting the brand, so it's not like he's stealing them or anything. I still prefer my lipo in my GT over AAs because it's lighter than them. He's about to give me another 9V for my ProPointer when we hunt later today, so I'm good.

I just changed out the original battery today. It was getting quiter.. I just noticed it was pinpointing as deep... I may put the original battery back in when MD again and see if I get a lower volume when battery get drained a little more..

Just changed batteries and the volume is still lower than what it used to be. I think I need to wash out the speaker hole because that has happened before because of dirt in it.
