anybody make there own stand?

I made an excellent stand for both my AT PRO & x-terra. I went to my local camping store (BCF in Australia) & purchased a pack of 2 clips that go into the top of telescopic tent poles. These cost $9. I then cut 3 pieces of the white plumbing conduit - 1 @ 5 inches & 2 @ 3 inches. I bought a "T" piece & 3 end caps also for the conduit. I used the plumbing cement & made a "T" out of the conduit. I then drilled a 3/4 inch hole in the cap on the end of the 5 inch (the stem part) of the "T" piece & glued (Plastibond) a tent pole clip in the 3/4 inch hole. I lined it up straight & when the glue had set 20 minutes later, tried it on the stems of the detectors & it works great. Total cost per unit is less than $10.

Thank you. I will have to look for those clips.
Ant.

Here's my AT PRO set up that I posted last week.

Here is a simple stand that I use on my Ace and AT- Pro and it works great. The stand is made out of a heavy plastic. Cut plastic to fit, drill a hole in the center of the curved part, add a little heat to shape it, remove the screw holding the Garrett stand in place and attach as shown and your done. I put the rubber bands on both sides to prevent it from turning. No drilling, no extra weight and it works great.
