Anybody Interested In This?

I made up a little target ID label a few years ago when I had my Elite, with which I first used a Minelab meter modified from 550 to 180 and then subsequently had a Sunray meter for. I had posted it here then and had several requests for the file afterwards.

Below is a picture of my modified Minelab meter with the label that I printed out on yellow stock and then laminated with some clear peel-and-stick laminate and glued to the meter top with some Elmers. I know the numbers pretty much by heart and I know many don't bother with a meter at all, but I like having that little extra info to add to the tones. I thought maybe some newbies might like the label. It's accurate for any 180 meter as well as the Digisearch meter from the GT as long as it's set at 180 with a US dime or quarter. Here's the pic and below that is a link to a Microsoft Word doc to print it.

Hey... Did you post that a few years ago? I think you must have because when I got my GT I made a copy of it to use.

Thanks!!

Well, of course "relics" cover a very broad range. But in my personal experience (of having dug up a good number of minnieballs, musketballs, and buttons with my Elite when I had it) you can expect minnies to come in at about 174, musketballs to come in at about 170 to 172, and buttons to hit somewhere between 150 and 174 for the most part. At least most of the ones I've dug with a Sovereign.

Hi Guys

This is my first post on this forum, although i read it a a daily basis.
I don't use a minelab detector, but i like to read about metal detecting in general.
I find it interesting that gold registers any where from 172 to 065
Do you guys just beep and dig or does the GT have different tones you can go by.

The GT is primarily a tone ID machine. The meter is totally optional. There is a wide range of distictively tones on the GT and with experience you can tell a quarter from a penny from a nickle from a gold ring with a HIGH degree of accuracy, as good as any out there.
