Anybody here use SurfScanner PI or Garrett's PI machine or White's PI?

It is a great machine. You here a broken tone on the little bobbie pins and pieces of sand fence. It is a deep seeker you just have to learn it a little. Hope this helps.

They are surely not for 90% of the hunters out there, but those who learn PI's probably dig more gold on salt beaches than those that discriminate.
While the XL500 is old PI technology, you can occasionally pick one up used for between $200 to $300. I wouldn't spend a lot on a PI till you've spend a decent amount of hours with one and are sure you can get along with a non-discriminating machine.

I use a Tesoro PIranha which was replaced by the Sandshark. it's a great machine, very sensitive to the smallest gold. PI's are the way to go in the salt sand and water.
