does any body know the readings on the bottom left and bottom right of the screen?can't read them unless you can move the lettering on the screen?is this time ranger a good working detector?:shrug:thanks.

bottom left is for your battery, and the right hand side is for im not sure. maybe its for the sniffer mode or the blanket mode, someone will chime in here and tell you.

The left is battery and the right is the blanker mode. I dont own a Time Ranger yet but will in a few days, All the reviews have been decent .Check out Kellyco.com ,you can see the Time Ranger there with reviews and info

let me know ricky how you do with the time ranger.thanks------------------------------------------------------:pulltab:bill

Yea let us know what you think of it and how you do, I am interested in it myself, I have a 505 and a tracker IV now. I think I like the tracker IV better than the 505, but I just started using the 505 and have to learn it. so I will give it time before I make judgment.

Also with the Blanker on the lower right. That tells you if a target is accepted or rejected. A pointer will appear and point at the + or - when you get a hit.
Another dial to notice it the "Ground monitor." That feature is nice to see right away how high the mineral deposits are in the ground. The higher the mineralization, the more you may have to ground balance the unit so that you don't get as many false hits.

My suggestion is to read the manual over and over and play with TR in your back yard for a day or so first. Define an area, and put a few coins, nails and different metals on the ground to get the feel of the TR. It really helps allot.
Before long, your will be a pro.

In a post I posted here awhile back. Try finding stuff in the discrimination/target system. Don't discriminate out anything. (see page 17 in the manual) Just move the search coil over metals, and watch the readout and notice the tones associated with the readouts.
I don't use programs 1, 2 or 3. I use the "discrimination/target" and "self-tuning all metals mode." I just watch the readout as I get a hit. Sometimes if you discriminate, you pass up stuff that may be of value.

Good luck. Looking forward to what you find.
