I'm in waco area and there are a few good lakes, rivers and a cave that I been thinking about looken for gold... even though any find would b exciting. Appreciate the help

Gold isn't everywhere..Gold has been found in georgia, california, and other States.. and some in the Glacier areas but very small deposits . It does take a good Gold machine for detecting near gold bearing streams. Research is about the only true way to determine where it's at, where it has been found, and maybe more is still there. Good luck..I hope you find some.. caves of course would be the Buried type..and as we all know.. It's there waiting for the determined, and or lucky detectorist to put his coil over it...

Texas is a hard state to prospect, I would suggest looking at the GPAA claims there.

Would recommend bringing the following up on your computer, Texas gold prospecting, Texas GPAA clubs and Texas GPAA shows. There is a tremendous amt. of information listed under Texas gold prospecting and if you were to join an area GPAA club, their members are noted for being very helpful to novice gold prospectors. By attending a Texas GPAA show you'll not only get a first hand look at prospecting equipment, but there are also demonstrations on how to them. Chuck Lassiter's book "Midwest Gold Prospecting" is an excellent book on where to find gold in streams and rivers and contains a wealth of information on prospecting in general. Good luck!
