anybody had any luck compade/ 8" coil:tesoro:

From what i have heard the 8" model get's a little more depth then the 5.75" model.The biggest and most obvious advantage is the ability to cover more ground,now as far as searching in trashy areas i'd still say the 5.75' model is your best choice,i'm getting around 6" with my mine and that's running it with disc.set right on the "L" in Foil.Remember that the new model Compadre is still hardwired so switching coils isn't an option unless you plan on doing a mod.

Why in Gods name would they still hardwire them? Anyhow im happy with my 5.75" I use my Silver or Lobo if I need bigger coil.

By hard wiring it ,you get rid of an connection and you get a little better depth.
