Anybody got a T2+ yet?

I am trying to decide on getting one of these or a Equinox. I am wondering how well the boost process works and if it's EMI friendly running the boost process. Thanks in advance.

I don't guess nobody has gotten one yet.

Hey buddy .. Can't help you with the box..been wondering about the t2+ myself ....I have the t2se with dst....been trying to find anyone with info that has used both and what pros/cons they see.....would consider a t2+ over my dst model if I felt it was a step up.....take care....joe

Joe I went ahead and ordered one when I get it I will let you know how it does. My buddy has a T2SE with DST and we are going to compare them side by side on targets. I will let you know what our results are.

Great.. looking forward to your report...hh.. joe

Well they shipped it out on the 20th so I hopefully will be able to get out this weekend if Mother Nature will cooperate it seems like just about every Saturday & Sunday it always seems to rain.

Hey Morgan sometimes just gotta get wet lol...last 2 weekends I have had to put up with the rain...but finds are making it worthwhile....deer season just went out and turkey season isn't far away in my area...got a few weeks to enjoy the finds....let me know how you like the new T2.....hh joe

I'd love to get feedback on the T2+ also. The fact that there aren't any reviews on it ANYWHERE make me wonder whats going on.

I got mine yesterday and used it today for only a short time. Going out tomorrow and will post a review of what I think tomorrow evening.

Got one on the way and a Nel Tornado coil. :twodetecting:

Let me know how that Tornado coil performs compared to the stock coil if you don't mind. I currently have the stock coil NEL Sharpshooter and 5" coil for mine. I really love this 5" coil in thick iron and it's deep to boot. I dug a 1919 Wheatie over the weekend down about 6".

I should get a chance to hunt with it in a few days. I have some spots that had some old buttons and a few coins, about cleaned out all the good signals with my F75 and stock coil. If it hits many targets there, I will know the Tornado coil is hunting deeper. It air tests crazy deep in boost.

One thing that surprised me about the T2+, It does not have DST that you can turn off and on like the F75+ and LTD. It's a T2 classic with boost.

Yeah I don't see any time that I would need the DST off this thing with DST is crazy deep and stable. It is kind of mind blowing the way it performs.

The Nel Tornado coil would not ground balance on my T2+. I sent it back. The stock coil GB fine. I have to learn this T2+ even though I have a F75 LTD. They are not as much alike as I thought they were.

I know this is an old thread but I now have a At-pro and an E-trac. The At-pro seems alright but really isn't as deep as the E-trac. The E-Trac to me is almost useless because the screen is so dim I can't see it in the house or out in the field. I have to use a flashlight to see the screen indoors even with the back light on.

So I've been looking at the Equinox 800 and the T2+. I have always liked Technetics but have heard some bad things about them lately. The thing that turns me off to the Equinox is the sealed battery. No one sells a replacement battery that I''ve seen so you have to send the unit back to Minelab. How do you keep a spare when in the field? The T-2 uses 4 AA batteries just like the Garrett and I have a lot of good rechargeables so it would make my life easier. So what do you guys think? The Equinox 800 or the T2+?
Thanks

I’ve never used an 800 and I’m sure it’s a great machine. I just can’t do the Minelab sound. I have a T2se and it’s my favorite all around machine. I can use it anywhere. It’s also the deepest machine I have by a fair stretch. Others can ID a coin better at medium depth, the g2 and the omega I’m using. But if I need to work in iron or for deep targets, t2 fits.

I still own and use the original T2 that i have owned since 2006/7 one of the 1st batch i guess into the UK,it has found me more gold coins than all my other machines put together, its deep very deep and it all depends of course what your objective target size is and then you use the relevant coil for the job,the largest coil that i use is the NEL Big 17x15 and when running in AM mode on clean open pasture sites then it certain is a deep machine. But still my favourite coil for general depth that is still sensitive to small targets is the SEF 15x12 coil and its pretty light for it size.

I also own and use the Equinox as well with all 3 coils 6'',11 and the 15'',main reason is that i was after a machine that is relatively light but the ability to work a very productive roman villa site that was occupied for 400 years, but the soil conditions are very akin too black sand and a single freq machine like the T2 just wont cut it,its the domain of multi freq and Pulse machines,i have both these option but prefer the Nox as it works well and also has of course full discrimination, the TDI pro does of a fashion but is hard work.

Its swings and roundabouts with each machine,no such thing as a wonder do it all detector,so this is why for the same money as a single freq machine these days you can buy a Nox and use it either in multi freq mode or individual freq's as well and that is the winning trump card, also not forgetting its totally submersible as well.

My T2 wont ever be sold and i still holds that crown for finding me the most gold coinage including celtic gold staters,George 11full guinea and Viccy Sovereigns, not sure what the magical electronic are in the control box but boy it does sniff out gold well, that is why some years ago it was the red hot machine for gold nugget hunting in Sudan etc,you could for a while have just bought a new standard T2 and they had been preprepared to offer and buy them for x 2 and 3 times what you paid for it as they had beaten supply from the factory. That in my mind speaks volumes how good they are for hunting not only gold nuggets but gold coinage as well.
