Anybody ever see a silver ring marked "900"?

Got this a two other junkers this past friday.
This thing has all the characteristics of a silver ring, light weight 3.4 grams size 7 1/2, and tarnished black in some spots.
But I've never seen a silver ring marked 900

It's marked S?ate 900
I can't make out the second letter maybe SWATE or SHATE or SMATE

I'm almost positive it's not platinum - too light!
I guess it could be white gold....but I don't think so with it being tarnished black...
So anybody ever seen a silver ring marked 900?

Thanks

Lots of stuff marked 900, it is just another purity mark. Little less then 925 (sterling). Comes out of Mexico and other places! Lots of different purity marks word wide.

Hello Outotime
900 is the Metal and Fineness (Purity) Mark
in many cases may be 850, 900, 950, 999, or 800.
in your case you have a 90% sterling ring and the other 10% other alloyed
tonysteve is right on the money
congratulations WtG:thumbup:
