always experimenting trying different setting on fisher f75ltd camo version. Notice when I up my disc to eliminate things like tabs, zincs, etc, contrary to the thinking that it would quiet things down, the chatter and mid range, iron like grunt noise instead increases making it a very unpleasant experience. As an alternative approach am I using the notch correctly then when instead I lower the disc to 9 or 10, and then notch the zincs, and tabs out separately? (I know about loosing other signals, so dont need comments on that.) In a junky environment , I thought the disc could be used to quiet things down, I mean is there something wrong with my machine or does this have to do with the electronic processes they use to create discrimination? Thanks, CO

Take it for what it's worth--I believe I read it on T. D's site that there are changes in sens. power at below 4 disc. and above 19 disc. I have had similar issues as well as inaccurrate pinpointing depth issues. Targets showing and in fact coins with pinpoint depths of 4 to 5 " are always very near the surface and ones showing 5 to 7" are 2 to 3. Noise is horrific with sens. above 30 or 40 regardless of disc. and appears to be worse in soils that GB above 85.
If I find soil that GB's in the 70's it's much better as far as noise goes. I have tried setting disc by both discing up and notching down and the noise seems to be equally bad. It's been sitting in El Paso since last Thursday --still waiting for a prognosis

Elton knows the F75 like the back of hand. When I just coin hunt I will max out the disc it will pick up every coin above zinc's. One thing I did notice is when running max disc and as soon as I put a nickel notch in there the machine became vary noisy. I really like the tones, but I found that running one tone really cuts down on the noise. I don't hunt relics so I know very little about that world.
