Anybody compare the new 8x11 to the 10x12?

I "assume" these are DD coils(?). With that said....of course better coverage. I doubt you'll gain much in depth but possibly? What I've noticed when using the larger coils on my Trac is the Ultimate coil (13") seems to sniff out those deep coins that are on edge? I use the NEL ss coil (5.5 x 9.5) and very pleased with it for my general hunting but I haven't noticed where it's really nailed some of those coins on edge? My belief is the wider the DD the better for those "iffy", deeper, on edge coins?

imo....bigger & wider (or a round coil)....better on the on edge coins

I think tabman did a comparison some time ago, but I could be wrong...if he did it was on the Metal Detecting Forum.

They say round DD coils give better depth over an oval coil like a 5.5.x 9.5 vs. 8 or 9" round.
The advantage the oval coils have is getting into tighter spaces, like in between corn stubble.

Using a elliptical coil in stubble is still not the best option really,as say a 10x6 coil still has to be swung side to side so basically its still similar to swinging a round coil, infact i would stick my neck out here and say that a small round coil would not catch on the wheat stubble as much a elliptical coil. This is just my observation as we are in peak harvest time and all we mainly have is just stubble and the best option is still a small round stubble busting coil or the other option is of course using a massive big coil and using the weight of the coil to flatten the stubble, only trouble using the latter option is it can drain your strength very quickly when its hot.

The 12x10 Tesoro coil being a DD coil may give you additional depth but they are not light coils and would only be used for detecting on pasture, must admit have never seen or heard about anyone using the new Tesoro coil maybe its because Tesoro as a detector are not used as much as other brands,is it because of the old chestnut of not having the screens that folks prefer ???
