If you are having hunting withdrawal, it is going to get worse. It looks like March before we will be able to get back out hunting anywhere here in the Midwest and even then, the ground will still be frozen I bet. We got pretty spoiled the last 10 years with the mild winters, I remember hunting quite a bit during the winter months if I bundled up.
These are the kind of winters I remember as a kid and making snow forts and igloos out of the drifts.
As a kid in the 80's it seemed like every winter was like this. I also remember building some large snow forts in the snow mounds with my brother. Good memories.
But I'm not 10 anymore and I'm over this winter and definitely sick of shoveling snow also. Crazy thing today though, I just started shoveling my drive when a guy with a plow suddenly pulled up, honked me out of the way and preceeded to clear of the drive. Took him about 2 minutes. Then he drove off and never said a word. I didn't even get a chance to thank him. Saved me about 30 minutes in the cold.
So I'll be looking to pay it forward somehow and dreaming about spring.
I might be hunting for my sanity if this weather doesn't break soon. I don't mind the snow as much as these negative temperatures. The days are getting longer and the sun is feeling warmer. I'm looking forward to getting out detecting this spring. HH and stay warm.
