Any Vaquero users in North Carolina?

Hello all. My very first metal detector just arrived, a Tesoro Vaquero. I was wondering if any of you are experienced with the Vaquero, live within driving distance to Fort Bragg, NC and would be willing to help me learn the machine. The users' manual leaves me with a lot of questions. I gave it a try in my back yard in all metal mode, and I was getting lots of hits. But when I tried digging one of them and ended up with nothing but a big hole. I was hoping for a least trash so I could confirm it's working.

If any of you are willing to work with me I would be more than happy to drive to your place or a meeting place, or we can plan a metal detecting outing this weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
