any updates on matrix m6 N/T

that it is an excellent relic machine....went yesterday with my friend who uses an MXT....We both had our machines set up the same way.... Discrimination...Fully CCW....Sensitivity Fully CW...
Same area, same amount of time hunting...
I was able to get 4 .58 round balls, .50 2 ringer, 3 different size pistol balls, large flat button, and a brass hook from a knapsack....The friend with the MXT was able to get 2 small pistol balls and a small piece of scrapnel.... Difference was obvious...David has been using the same MXT since White's introduced them...so it wasn't a lack of ability...The M6 was just hitting deeper...Dave was even talking about selling his MXT and buying the 6.... Your mileage may vary but that is what happened here...... Best to all, Richardntn
BTW, No hype here, I have them both....

Thanks for the post Richard,

Tell us more about the threshold sound with the sensitivity turned up. Is it louder the higher you turn up the sens and does it interfere at all with hearing the deep soft hits? More importantly does it actually add depth or just boost the signals like on the MXT?

thanks
Tom

wide open, there was no noise whatsoever.with it in that position, it didn't have any adverse effects, only good ones...Noise before came from power lines... no threshold on the M6.......Best to you, Richard

M6 at first either with all the different audio, no apparent difference in the MXT BUT after I have taken 15 hours or so to get use to it, your dislike quickly turns to like.... I, no doubt will use the M6 as my primary detector.... there is a short learning curve with the M6 but one that pays off... Best to you, Richard

I was under the impression that when you increased the sensitivity above 100% a threshold tone of sorts could be heard. That was the basis for my questions. Now I wonder if it applies only to the single tone mode?

Tom

I don't know where I got the impression that the ramped sensitivity settings created a background threshold sound. I see there is no mention of it in the manual. May have been some bad info from that SF dealer I read somewhere.
