ANY TIPS ON THE GTAX1250

New member
been using a 550 for sometime now with a lot of great finds.recently bought a 1250 after reading about them looked like i could get more depth so i thought i would check it out.one of the problems i am having is the "overload" i guess you would call it.constant beeping when there is a large target any way you can turn this off.any other tips would be appreciated took me awhile to really learn the 550 so i don't want to give up to quickly on the 1250 thanks for any pointers.

Try running your sensitivity at 6 or 6.5. The 1250 is just the 1500 or 1350 without imaging or profiling. Check the archives out for tips on those two. Tape or fasten your cable straight up the shaft about a foot or so. Scan slow as these detectors work better at that speed. Scan with your coil at least an inch off the ground. Garrett coils don't favor "scrubbing", especially in mineralized or trashy ground.

Do what WIlly says, and get the smaller elliptical coil somewhere along the line.
