Just trade my GTI 2500 for an Explorer. It's in the mail now, hope to have it by this weekend. Is there any tips you experienced Explorer users give to an Explorer Newbie that the manual wont cover or that you learned thru use. Thanks for any information!!

Learn the tones and listen to them, they are more important than the crosshairs. If you have a nice repeatable high pitched tone that is repeatable from more than one way and in the same spot it is one you want to dig. Now some of these may read in the iron area, but trust your ears more than your eyes.
Run Iron mask at a -10 to -14 and listen to all the tones if possible as this is where you will get the coins close to iron the others have missed. Iron mask is a mode all to it self and has nothing to do with the disc patterns. I will switch back and forth, but try to run in iron mask as much as possible.
Most of all have patience and ask all the question you can on this fourm.
Good Luck
Rick
