Any thought about Detector Stands

I am fairly new to the sport and was considering buying a detector stand for my unit. I wondered if these were commonly used
out there and what the pros and cons were.

I bought the Jeff Herke Cuff and stand for my X-Terra. It is very well made and really helpps, Beale.

Go to a place that services weedeaters and get a handle off a junk weedeater and it will clamp to your detector. Some handles are flat at the back and make an excellent stand. I think some of the rounder handles could be heated and flattened. When my weedeater gives up the ghost the handle will be removed before discarding the eater.

I needed something for my Lobo ST, so I just got a piece of heavy aluminum flatstock and bent into a "channel" shape. I shaped it so the "closed' end was the width of the Lobo and the open end was a little wider. I then drilled holes in the closed end to match two screw holes on the Lobo and found two metal screws that were just a little longer than the originals, no more, and used a grinder to remove the point, and of course painted my new stand to match, yeah you could use bright red paint if you want to. It's worked well, there you are! ( I ground the new screw points so that any wire inside the detector box that might come in contact with the screw would not wear through and short)

I placed the nail at a n appropriate height and slapped it with a hammer. Turned over my safari and flattened the coil parallel to the wall and hung the thing on the coil...
Looks great, very cheap, you can actually use a nail find if you want.

You need a stand to keep your nice, pretty $5000.00 detector from rolling down a pile of rocks and becoming a trashy looking piece of uncared for ugly thing. 'Course now, Billy Bob's be less likely to steal it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Maybe I should take mine off :clapping:
