Any suggestions on "plugging the shaft" to prevent water from reaching the control box

I am trying to figure a way to watertight the inner tube while still making it still easy to exchange coils. I do keep my coil lower the housing, but you never know when detecting if you accidental tilt it up. It's best to plug it, but any suggestions how without it becoming a pain when I want to swap coils.

The idea came to my mind, but I am wondering if it is easy to remove?

More than likey, there is no easy solution to have water-tight and easy to swap coil option. I am just posting to read the suggestions.
Cheers,
Majesus

well you certainly dont wont anything porous or that will cause more problems than solve i am not suggesting you would use anything like that but you have no idea who may read this and plug it with cotton woll ect which is a no no

water cant go fast in to the control panel. drill few holes in upper shaft in different places and you will not have any problem

how about expandable foam sealant?just a thought.

I think I would use a small amount inside the socket for the upper shaft, just enough to seal the housing.
Or maybe pack the upper rod with something like cotton soaked ( not dripping)with silicone, that way you could pull it out to change coils when you tread the cable.

get a sunray probe. than you can cut some packing foam to shape, and stuff it up the upper shaft. thats what i did and it works great. or i suppose you could do the same inside the lower shaft too, being that the cable runs outside the shaft.
