I just bought my wife a new MXT and am looking for any tips you are willing to offer.
Thanks in advance

Read the <STRONG><EM>"MXT Engineering Report"</EM></STRONG> and <STRONG><EM>"MXT Diary"</EM></STRONG> on the Whites website.
Then read some tips that I've put together from different forums. They aren't in any order and ramble a bit, but there is a wealth of information in them. You can read them at this link:
http://www.ottosdetectors.com/DetectingArticles/MXT_Hints_and_Tips_Web.htm
Hope this helps.
Good Hunting,

Also, have her read the MXT FAQs by Chris Ralph which can be found at the link below.
Click on the Tutorials button.

ihave to go to work now but will answer your post tommorow or ask Monte he showed me.

First, let me say that I almost always establish a functional GB with an XL Pro, MXT or XLT, and then operate with that GB setting 'locked' rather than rely on the Autotrac

I see Monte was kind enough to explain.I hope you understood. If not ask again.Monte has a lot of knowlege on the subject of metal dectecting.Good luck hunting.
