Most go for the upper end units and are disappointed ,at least with these you have a chance of paying for your detector with a couple of good finds. With such a cheap price, nothing to loose, and the pressure is off.Interesting detectors for the price of a pin pointer.

Someone said they got a chance to hold one and said they are really loose and fragile. Since the intended user was kids he couldnt see them lasting long. Said it fits in a shoe box. It best be better than it sounds or I cant see it ever replacing an ace or even a bounty hunter.

I guess In addition to being a curmudgeon I am an old Fuddy duddy. I tend to wait till a new item has a proven track record before I plunk down my dollars.

I spent a lot of years in retail. Had one of the Major Firearm Manufacturers come out with a new Semi-Automatic 12ga shotgun that would shoot all shells from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 inch. At least that was what they were advertising. It supposedly could do that without the shooter having to make any adjustments to the firearm.

The Company invited a bunch of Sporting Goods buyers to a Dove Shoot down in Ga. Issued each of them a New Shotgun and the appropriate ammunition.

It did not take long until it was discovered that the New shotgun would Not reload itself when using the 2 3/4 inch loads that were appropriate for dove hunting.

It took the Company another six months of engineering before the Shotgun was ready for the Market. It still had problems at times with the light 2 3/4 inch loads.

I might consider one of the "Go" models in a couple ;of years after they have a proven tract record. Till then the ACE-250 will be the one that gets carried around are rarely used.

Dew,there are a lot of excellent beginners models including the Tesoro Compadra. Thanks Ron
