Any Solution?????

My hunting partner used to use a Garrett and she recently bought a new MXT. Now we can't get anywhere close to each other when hunting because our MXT's pulsate. Is there any solution to this problem other than going in opposite directions? It is really annoying and sometimes we have like a fairly small lot to hunt and it's just not possible to hunt together now. BTW she is so happy with her MXT. It's like she is addicted to the hobby all over again lol.

one time someone ask the same thing.I don't remember but there was a electronic part that you could buy to change the frequency.

My wife and I both hunt with MXT's and hunt from time to time within 8 feet of each other with no problems with the detectors talking to each other. I will at times check one of her targets and when I walk to to her there is interference, but she just swings her coil away from mine and the interference stops. How close are the two of you hunting together? HH Dennis in Idaho

I met two guys while hunting one had an M6 and one had an MXT. They had to be pretty close before they bothered my MXT. As Dennis said it happened when they wanted to check a find. When we hunt we aren't right next to each other. Rob

What's your gain set at? Maybe it's too high if you two are real close. HH, Nancy

I hunt with guys with MXT's and only have trouble if we are right together I mean side by side...........

If we get within ummm I'd say 25 feet, it is impossible to hunt with any peace. The detectors will drive you nuts with the pulsating noise.

Doesn't sound right. Are you hunting around any power lines either overhead or buried? I don't see anyone having the same problem. HH Dennis in Idaho

I agree with Dennis. Check to see if there's power lines. Boy, I've never heard of then talking to each other that far apart. Usually it's within a foot or less. Strange. HH, Nancy

My tectin buddy has anXLT and we often get as close as 3 feet apart and they start and of course mine is the MXT, so one of us backs off a foot or so but that's all. Had NO other MXT to compare it with tho. floridason K. .:)

This happens EVERYwhere we hunt.......power lines or none, at the beach, in open lots well it just happens everywhere we go together. We never had a problem hunting right together when she had the Garrett but since she got her new MXT 300 and I have the old MXT it is just awful. I've noticed that it is even worse than bad when I lay my detector flat on the ground to dig the target. I guess because my 10" coil is no longer flat but it's terrible when we are both swinging also. It's just unbearable. We just have to stay way away from each other and I've just started turning my OFF when I want to approach her to chat or see what she is finding. It really sucks lol.

Contact the factory maybe they can help. Nobody here seems to have a solution to your unique problem. HH Dennis in Idaho
