Any searchers in Southern Spain?

Des D

New member
Hi,

Can I run a longshot past you guys please??

I was sought out by a couple a few days ago who asked if I could help recover a lost ring?
"Sure ...where did you lose it?"
Reply: "In Spain...a few weeks ago...we were thinking of going back there with a detector to look for it...!"

My question is: do we have any searchers on here from Spain?
Location is: Southern Spain - close to a town called Sabinillas in Malaga Province

There is a nice reward if recovered.

Many thanks for looking

Salut je vis en France mais je n'ai Familie

Des D, it`s true that in Andalucia it's forbidden to detec either in the country side or in the beaches. Malaga is a province of Spain that belongs to Andalucia. They are giving permision only for three beaches in the hole Andalucia but you have to ask for it in advance, some guys said they have to wait 5 or 6 months. I think they said that they have to go to the Ministerio de Cultura to ask for it. You can always try to ask for it explaining that`s only for recovering that particular ring.

Hi Des, its like Daviot says, things are pretty tight down that end, a few have permits but it takes time. On one of the spanish forums a similar ocurence cropped up(maybe the same) the person applied to ministry of culture to si if they could look on the particular beach for a supposed airloom and permision was denied, they were also told if they tried and were caught they would be prosecuted.
Send me a pm with the name of the beach and i'll ask on the spanish forum to see if anyone has a permit for that beach and if so pass on the details, although as time passed the chances get slimmer as there are furtives that take no head of the restrictions

Hi I live in France but I dont however have any familly in Malaga. It isnt a problem using a detecteur in the region of Malaga.

Malaga is Andalucia and is banned without special permit i can asure you

Hello to all who have helped,

The couple were in touch and the news / update was passed along.
It seems a very remote chance exists for the ring to be recovered at this point.

Many thanks.
