I am in the Portland Oregon area-I find yellow agate a lot & pocket the ones I find digging while metal detecting. I was river detecting & I saw this in ankle deep water today. I know they are not typically valuable...but the green mosaic "turtleback" on this one is something I've never seen before. I should have taken the photo in daylight to get the color but it is trascluscent green with a mosaic pattern on top of layered white/clear.

So-Is it agate?...Is it valuable??

I gave it to my daughter so it won't get sold but I am curious..Thanks!

I did some google searches & found what it is called.

A fairly rare specimen from this area-but it may have traveled downstream a long way during the spring blowouts this river gets often...

Cheers!
