Any opinions on which detectors interfere with each other

Neil

Well-known member
when hunting semi close together that is. I know sovs interfere with each other, how about PIs and Sovs or ??
Which is more effected by close by hunting, a PI or VLF?

Theres a lot more hunters on the beaches now, can anyone share some dos and donts on this subject?

Thanks,
Neil

My partners PI plays with my Excal Big time when He gets within 25 ft. I can Hear the Pulse's on my Headphones! I have to turn the Excal off..So I guess it would affect the Sovs.as well...Obn

Thanks Obn, does your excal do the same to his pulse or doesnt it bother it?

Neil

Neil it does not matter, anytime I get near another water hunter, no matter what they are running, I get feedback. Just try to stay clear of them, and hopefully they will do the same for you. Don't count on it though.

I used my Excal and my son the Fisher 1280 for about two hours yesterday. We hunted together one time before. We're in fresh water and on 60' hookah lines. Not good visibility and bumped into each other a couple of times with no interference to each other. These are different conditions but for what it's worth...Jim

A friend and I hunt with the excal and PI pro and experience interference a lot, I think it's something to do with the pulse's from both machines being increased with the salt water. When we lift the coils it will change the strength.

Excal does not seem to affect his , but I have mine turned off before I get to close. Will let you know after next week...Going to be around several next week..May have to hunt high tide and Waist Deep and fight the Waves........instead of the wet sand Pirates....HH.Obn

Like GH says, my sov is also effected by anyone that comes close, maybe I should be trying my PI more and let others worry about the interference:thumbup:

Its a rare day anymore when someone else isnt close or getting closer. The good news is theres still alot of pendulum swingers out there.
