Any opinions on Minelab Excalibur??

I have a White's Surfmaster PI and have had good luck with it. I was wondering if anybody has used the older excalibur (not the 800 or 1000), and how it ranks up against a newer excalibur and the PI units?
Pros and Cons?
Any comments would be appreciated as I know of someone who is selling one.

Your PI is going to detect everything and you will dig everything. Excal is a discriminating machine that will discriminate out iron. Both machines are good, the difference being how good the operator is.
Don't buy a machine that is so old that it may be totally faulty. Save your money and buy new or hardly used.
