i was wondering how this digging tool worked if any one here use it plus it has a life time warranty I'm undecided on this one the gator digging tool or the Lesche digging tool just fig i ask and see what other have to say about it since it has a double sided cutting edge.

The Lesche is well worth the extra $$$. It doesn't seem like it should be that much better until you buy one.

Go with the Lesche!! I've had mine 7 yrs now and just sharpen it up with a file occasionally. I almost wish it didn't have the serated edges sometimes, gets hung in bermuda grass real easy and tears up lawns.

BigCat,
Maybe a welding and grinding job is in order to fill up the notches? I think Lesche or Predator should offer the knife with or without serrations. But when I need to cut a root it sure does the job!

I use to live a few miles from Kellyco. It was easy and convenient for me to shop there. I bought the gator digger. It works fantastic in FL. It cuts through St. Augustine very well. I sliced the sheath up pretty quick also. My style of digging I like to make a slice in the soil. I wiggle the digger to open the slice a little. I then probe to get the target and then pushed it all back together. When I got done in a park or a nicely sodded area, you could not tell I was there.
Here in WV with this rock infested, heavy clay soil, It didn't last very long. Wiggle that blade against a rock and it flexes. A few stress cracks then it broke. I don't totally blame the digger, it wasn't made to be a pry bar. I made a digger out of 1/4" thick 316 stainless steel. I shaped it like the gator digger with teeth. I can pry stones out of the ground and it does not bend. It doesn't have the nice feel of the gator digger, but it works for me. I would say for the price and where you will be using it, the gator digger should work well for you. If I lived in Fl. I would still be using it.

I use Stan's EZ-Digger. It's stainless and works great, plus it has a sliding ball on the shaft to use as a fulcrum when prying something out of the ground. Very well engineered tool. Ain't broke it or damaged it yet.

Yep, for me, a smooth on both sides Lesche would be great!!
I have found quite a few serated steak knives and keep one in my pouch for cutting roots, works great!!
