I was hunting a spot for coins and when I went to pinpoint I notice the cursor on the screen move to the area of the coin and hold with minimal movement up / down and side to side. When I was over a nail it would be down in the nail area in pinpoint.

I dug a couple of the nail readings and they were odd metal targets, the coins that held turned out to be a dime and a quarter (only two I found so I couldn't really check up on it that much). don't remember reading about this.

Is this just a fluke / me triing to hard or what?

iv found the same thing with mine. I have even been digging the ones that drop to the iron range just to check and there all junk iron. the ones that stayed above the FE 27 line were not junk most of the time. So im learning to watch the cross hairs when i PP to see if its iron or worth digging.

Glad I'm not the only one then.

That's good news, given the high trash spots and a smaller coil, that can really pop out those "left behind" coins. Also be able to key in on the coin instead of the nail with that small coil. less diggin.

I noticed when a coin was near iron that the cross hairs would jump some times wile in PP from coin to iron and then back to coin but once the ratchet PP narrows to a target it would ether be the trash or the coin and that has thrown me a curve. Sometimes i dig the coin first some times i dig the iron first. It just depends on witch one was strongest to the PP but i always seem to find a high CO object in the hole ether way.
