Any one out there know of anybody that might let a person hunt for civil war relics on there property? Or how to go about getting permission to hunt for relics?

I live by a battle site. I asked the owner if I could hunt it 15 years ago. He said no! So now it has a sub division on the site. No one in the town was happy.

i would say that now that it has a subdivision on the site that you can ask the people that live in the subdivision if you can detect. Thats what i would do since the original landowner does not own the property, right?? How many houses are on the subdivision being built? Me iam not afraid to ask peoplebe bold get that treasure

Maybe 50 houses, strip mall and a Sonic. I detected there twice as they were moving soil. I haven't asked any homeowners.

did you find anything good there or did they take out the dirt and do what they do in ohio and leave you with clay and rocks? theres this company called dominion homes that strips the land of the dirt good farm dirt and they leave you with nothing to plant anything in but clay thats dirty in my book. wish you good luck in finding anything hope you find some good stuff

They had made 2 huge mounds of top soil. I detected that with no success finding relics. Actually the general contracting company ad set up a trailer there. I stopped in about 4 pm on a Friday. No one was working but there was one guy in the trailer ready to leave. He told me that I wasn't supposed to be on the property but then said to wait a few minutes and he would be gone. So that's what I did.
