I would like to have a spare. I understand that the only coil is the 8 inch OEM coil that came on it. I would just like to have a spare. Thanks

Those coils were hard wired to the machine, if I am not mistaken, so you will not find any available other than an authorized Fisher repair center. Fisher will put a new one on your machine if you care to send it in to the factory.

Oh it is not broken I just wanted to have a spare. Yes it does appear to be hard wired but that is not a big deal to me. I tend to keep things for a long long time. My 1986 Toyota 4runner is still on the road. I do not get rid of things until they are completly worn out and no longer worth repairing. In fact one of my favorite hunting rifles is 70 years old and just as good as the day it was made! I take meticulious care of everything I own even though I use everything I own as intended I just do not abuse things. My fear is that by the time it needs a coil Fisher will not have any for it! So this means I will need to find out if any other machine used a coil that operated at that freq. and I will need to install a socket to match the other coil etc........ I have even considered the idea of just building my own coil for it if the need should ever come to that! It cannot be any harder then building a tranmitting and recieve antena for my two way radio gear! I really like this little 1212X it is perfect for starting someone out and so far it will find things deeper then I care to dig!!!LOL
