any one ever found anything other than junk ok the bans of the ohio river

Hi Jensman. I have never metal detected along the Ohio but when I lived in southern Ohio I used to walk the river bank all the time. would find things now and then. found a brass spoon found an old brass portal once. found an old dime one time. cant remember now if it was a merc or a barber. found a few pocket knives. gonna be lots of trash if you use your detector but it could be worth it. I would love to how you do if you do detect it. I might have to head down to the river come spring. I believe someone last year talked about hunting the Ohio's banks with a detector but he never posted anything so I don't know if he hunted it or not. It was on this forum . was in 2010. guess two years ago. Anyway best of luck! :detecting:

Did you find anything worth keeping at all. Maybe I WON'T head to southern ohio this spring lol.

Found lots of sinkers to melt down and make bullets thats about it. But ive heard about people finding gold coins on the banks in greenup ky so i may go back when the weather breaks,:csflag::shrug:
