Hi to all the analogers,

Does any one know any thing re: the Compass 77 Auto Legend detector?
I would like to find out its operating frequency, whether Is it a TR or Motion Discriminator? etc?
Is this one of the famous "see through nails" units which old time hunters speak so fondly of.
Any info greatly appreciated.

Does any one know any thing re: the Compass 77 Auto Legend detector?... Yes

I would like to find out its operating frequency,... 100 kHz

whether Is it a TR or Motion Discriminator? etc?... Straight, conventional TR and no discrimination adjustment.

Is this one of the famous "see through nails" units which old time hunters speak so fondly of.... It is somewhat SIMILAR to the early 77B and other early Compass TR's which SOME people have fond memories of. "Old Timers" were hunting long before these models were produced (about 15 years ago), and they definitely were not sold in very great numbers like the early Compass Yukon (77, 71, 94, etc.) series were.

The 77 Auto-Legend was basically an up to date version (for the time 1990) of the 77 B Auto! Many of the old timers felt that it was not as deep or as sensitive as the original 77b Auto or Pro! I owned one for about 12 years or so and really preferred the older versions!................HH..............Joe
