Any of you other Va Beach hunters have any luck now that the surf has calmed enough to give us a low tide??

I am heading out there in about an hour though. I think Newtohunting was gonna try to hit it this morning but I didn't hear anything.

No idea if there's been any sand movement or not - LaBec Rouge webcam has changed it's angle - check it out, I think I like it since it gives you a little better idea of the wave angle.

I'll post what I found out when I get home tonight.

Waves were huge. Got out to Salisbury about hour after low tide. Got bunch of clad and took 12 pictures. Cant upload until tomorrow. Stay tuned. Big waves, no cuts and it looks like NO SAND MOVEMENT at all. 2 rocks embeded down beach show sand is high and no movement at all. Did not see any other hunters. Pavillion shows no sand movement as well around the wooden poles.

I spent 1-2 hours around where I found the IH penny - got a bunch of clad, but nothing old. I saw your post earlier where you said there are cuts and silver being found, but I didn't see any real cuts per se where I hunted (although I didn't go to that other spot you suggested).

Just to give you an idea of sand movement - from the sand to the bottom of the concrete on that post you took a picture of was around 4-4.5 feet I'd say.

Around 7:30pm the wind started picking up steam and I headed all the way down to the S end of Salisbury and picked up another load of clad. The wind was really howling down there, so by morning you might get more sand movement.

Do me a favor it you would and let me know if you have any luck Saturday morning. I'm going to Mohegan Sun for the day, but I'm thinking of hitting Salisbury again Sunday sometime - if you have some luck, I'll give it a try - gotta find some of those "silver" spots :)

I stopped by Hampton briefly, but it looked as sanded in as usual - at least on the S end.

Good luck tomorrow - "show me the money"

I lost ~$120 playing craps a few weeks ago so I'm taking along a friend who's going to teach me a little more about playing. I'm heading there fully optimistic that I'm gonna come home up!

I got to thinking the other day that it's weird New Hampshire doesn't have casinos since they're the "live free or die" state and seem to be open to all sorts of other stuff. I'm probably lucky they don't have any though since I'm afraid I'd end up spending too many Saturdays there when I should be doing something else - Mohegan Sun is ~2 hours away which is a good distance - close enough to do a day trip, but far enough away not to do it very often.

Wish me luck!
