near Galveston, Texas? If so, I was wondering if anyone ever hit the beach area there in their hunts?

I'll bet.

I just bought my first detector a couple of weeks back (Ace 250) and have a lot to learn. I have been out a couple of times but have found nothing much. The gumbo soil makes for tough digging.

But it's fun hunting.

I'm about 60 miles from there. Haven't had a chance
to try the beaches yet, but plan to when I get the
chance. May also try the Surfside, Quintana area..
