ANY NEW DETECTORS FROM TESORO

Hello all, I see the other major manufacturers have brought out high dollar new detectors. Anybody hear anything about Tesoro and If they are working on a secret project???

I see on a French metal detector site there is a Tesoro model I have never seen before.

(Put "dot" in place of a period, in case the e-mail address is blocked. You will have to adjust this. Then when you are on this web page, look on the left side.)

(Also click on the Tesoro insignia from the list on the middle left. Click on the picture for a better look.)

You do not need to speak French to see a new Tesoro model there. Maybe it is just in the French language is the explaination? Hope this helps.

Maybe you can find a UK--England web site to see if a new model is on there too.

Just noticed I have a "Translate this page" on the top of Windows Vista and when clicking on it, it can be set from French to English. I tried it and it works!

upgrade the Cortes.

The feelings have long been for ground balance in discrimination mode with certain other features but alas nothing has yet been done.

If they're working on it they're doing a good job of hiding it.

Maybe they've tested such a unit already and found it no better at finds than the current unit? That's also a very real possibility.

All we can do is wait and see.

This much I do know, the year they do come out with a new whatever they'll make a killing in profits.

I just hope they don't follow another U.S. maker and try to play it too safe and risk losing out in the long run.

Do we really want our only option to be Made In China machines?

An up-graded cortez with multi-tones and a much needed increase in depth would be cool... also a beach machine for salt-water hunting would be great also:wiggle:

instead of us all waiting and wishing can someone start a poll of what they want in a new tesoro them someone email tesoro with results then they might get a move on

this has come up many times on Tesoro's official forum with no results.

And Jack Gifford does read his own forum and sometimes comments on it.

Even those who are so loyal to Tesoro that I wouldn't doubt they wear Tesoro imprinted underwear have been mildly critical of Tesoro's lack of new models.

Even some of their best dealers have posted threads on various forums begging Tesoro to make new machines or upgrade some of the old models.

I'd guess we're looking at one or more of the following (listed in no particular order):

1. They're working on new models but not ready to offer them.
2. They're working on new models but lack the knowledge and/or financial ability to produce competitive models.
3. They just don't think their current models need any improvements for their intended purposes.
4. They're concerned about the economy and don't what to risk the investment at this time.
5. They plan on being bought out within the next decade so they're just banking all they can get now.

and many more possibilities.

I don't know why buy I have a gut feeling that there are going to come out with some new models that will make us drool. But I have been wrong before. It would be nice to see some new Tesoro's but I am quite happy with what they have now. Steve.

I would like something muti frequecy with tones and depth of the tejon or build a super tejon and maybe some sort of circuit that checks your manual ground balance if you happen to get into some strange ground all of a sudden so you know for sure whats going on by either a beep or flashing led light to readjust ground balance, just a thought
