Any kind of coil?

erkan

New member
Hi all. I was wondering if one could use any kind of coil with the explorer II. Since at startup it "sets itself up", so to speak, according to its surroundings e.g. groundcondition, disturbing frequencies from electronics and other transmitters nearby etc.
Could one just use any shape of coil and still get results?

My second question is: Can anyone tell me what a standard coil or dubbelD coil is like. I mean: how many windings, clockwise vs. anticlockwise, one coil or two (sending and pickup?), thickness of the wire used, material of wire etc. etc.

Thank for your input,
Kind regards,
Erkan
p.s. i'm not in possesion of one....yet

Ones for the other brands of detectors will not work and the ones for the Minelab Quattro will ,but not those for the Sovereign.
The Explorer does not set itself up either on power up. Once it is turned on you will have to hold the coil still and push the noise cancel and let it go thought it 11 steps to see which Chanel works the best. Then you set your sensitivity to what you want and the program you want to run. Being you are new to it I would run the factory preset modes until you get familiar with it.
