Cleaned up some of my stuff from today at the cornfield and found this. It appears to be a backwards US
 
These were commonly made out of lead. It looks like "SL" to me.

found part of backwards plate advertising a pontiac 6 for $700.00. I would say at that price for a car it is probably from the 20s or 30s. It is amazing what things end up in cornfields.
