Any ideas, what kind of coin?

Found this coin this morning in my back yard, the house was built in 1847.

Never seen one like it, but Maximillion was emperor of Mexico sometime in the 19th century...maybe.....???

Thankyou for the info, after cleaning it up, i think i found my first gold coin with my dfx.

Lets see a pic of it cleaned up, doesn't look gold to me, hope it is!

i hope so too, from what i can see it looks gold. all i have is water to soak it in, im afraid to use any cleaners on it.

IF it WAS GOLD, it would polish up with just soap and water...maybe Brass...
