Any ideas on what this eagle piece might be?

Seems like it's cast bronze?...very detailed engraved feather work.
Beautiful greenish brown patina.
Nice solid weight at 60 grams.
12-42/43 on the E-Trac.

Plowed farm site Southampton, Long Island.
Confirmed 1750's site - also found King George large copper.

It was attached to something else via the hole in the top.
Dagger part? Musket part? Cane part? Bottle cap opener?

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Thanks.
Barry

thanks - looks like it could be a piece like that for a small sword or a dagger type instrument - with the hole in the top and the tapered end piece that clearly looks like it was meant to be tucked under/in something else. just slightly too small for a full size sword.
good call.

Dirk or Dagger...
