Any ideas Battery Pack:ukflag:

When I put the battery pack in my SE Pro the other day and switched it on nothing. If I moved the battery about it would work but when let go it would switch off again, tried this a few times it now works.
I have checked the springs in the bottom of the battery slot and they seem to be fine. Any ideas as I would not like to start messing about with it down the beach.
Just one more point.
About 12 months ago my minelab battery pack stopped working and would not charge or work in the detector, yesterday I tried it againin the SE result it was working again and has now charged up fully, just checking if it is holding the charge before I take it down the beach.

I know sometimes those AA batteries seem to be loose in my pack. I have to adjust the spring contact to make it tighter.

Sometimes cleaning the connectors work...Doesn't seem corroded but a dirty one can indeed cause a poor connection....A pencil eraser usually does the job..
Yes indeed springs also can not be tight enough but glad you got it working...Nothing worse than running out of battery power a distance from your vehicle..

I tried the minelab battery in a field across the road and seems to be working fine. I was out for a couple of hours and the battery pack did not cut out.
Thanks for any information.

High tec repair.
I have now sorted the problem with my SE Pro switching off all the time.
I put a piece of cardboard down the front of the battery pack only about an inch square and 1/8 inch thick but it has stopped any problems.
I was out swinging for about 2 hours yesterday and no problems.
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Just found the price of the RNB battery pack, it's about $150 so I shall wait and put the money towards a new detector.

I bought the RNB Innovations ML-3100. Dropped it in my Explorer on April 1st. Have hunted at least 11 times, easily over 20 hours and battery is still showing a full charge. I am very impressed and surprised !

I have two older 2900 batteries for my machines , they last well over 30 hours . at around £90 each they are the best investment for the ET/ Explorer there is.

If you have problems with the machine cutting out then it would be best to look at the springs or see if there is corrosion on them .

When loading the battery don't ever drop straight in . An old ate had problems with his old Explorer's too.

Just taped two pencils together and put some very fine emery paper on the end and with a tiny mag light sanded the ends of the springs which seems to have worked but take care which way you sand as not to bend the springs.
