I didn't find this with my MXT. I've had this for about 40 years and I found it in an old box in someones garage. There are some initials on the back of the clasp that aren't visible in the picture.
The insert is the back of the clasp.
This one has had me stumped for quite some time. What do you folks think it is?
Thank for looking..RonL(Edm)

Just a wag, but it looks like something you would put fresh cut flowers in and wear them around or something.

The inside is lined with a soft, velvet type of material. Someone that I know thought that it might have been used by the Canadian RCMP for some ceremonial purpose. Someone else thought that it was used to hold scissors.
Its not a big deal..I just bought a digital camera so I'm taking pictures of everything <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
Thanks..RonL

<span style="background-color:#ffff00;">Scale</span>, folks.
Cigar carrier?

Looks like it might be a case from a Victorian lady's chatelaine, which was kind of a chain belt with handy items hanging from other chains: pencil, notepad, scissors, etc. Check out the "Sterling Silver Chatelaine" pic near the bottom of this page:
